We all knew "gedoiei yisrael" who authored many sefarim and called out other gedoilim that did not conform to their views "apikorsin & meenim."
The Netziv z"l held that Hashem does "not tolerate such tzaddikim"

ReplyDeleteThis was a very famous quote that he wrote to Harav Shmuel Salant z"l to comfort him when the extremists were harassing and threatening Rav Salant. I believe its in one of the Hakdomas of one of his Sefarim. I will try to get back to you on this.
