Meshiginar Chabad Chasid joins Ukrainian army: 'Willing to die for Ukraine'

David Cherkski, a Chabad-Lubavitch hasid from Dnipro, Ukraine, has joined the war against Russia, together with his father.

Wearing his army uniform, the young Cherkski told Channel 13 News that the Ukrainians will do everything to win.

"I am now in Dnipro, and we are doing everything we can," he said. "We don't have a war yet here, but it's a matter of time. We are waiting for the Russians, so that we can show them."

"Half of them have already died, and the other half have gone home," he said of the Chechnya forces, who took part in the invasion.

Cherkski added: "We will not give the Russians anything. They can say what they want... That they will take Kyiv in two days, but we understand that now our army is the best in Europe."

"I am willing to die for Ukraine. I am willing to die for the Jews who are here, for the Ukrainians who are here. I was born here, my family is here. I am with my father here."

When asked if he would be willing to carry out a suicide operation blowing up one of Ukraine's bridges, he responded, "I think so."

  1. It is against Halacha to become a suicider! It's a Chilul HaShem!

  2. Good luck to this brave and principled man.
He has more courage in one finger than the Haredi world has in its entirety. It's an obligation to fight for your country. Anyone criticizing him needs to have a good hard look at themselves and realise that they are half-men compared to this guy.

The Jews who bravely fought on the side of the Germans in WW1 were taken out and slaughtered by Hitler ym"s but not before they were tortured.
I didn't see any Lubavitchers fighting in the USA army during the Vietnam war, and this was during a time when there was a mandatory draft and yet they opted out!'you are the crazy one!
If there is "an obligation to fight for your country" then why are the Chabadnikers in Russia not signing up for the Russian army?
And why is it "an obligation" only to fight with the Ukrainian murderers and it's not an obligation to fight in the IDF to save your brothers and sisters?

  4. I pity you sometimes.
The Russian Army doesn't NEED chabadniks. It has plenty of peasant fodder.
Your worldview is that of black & white. It's one of a 5-year old. No nuance, no consideration. The grandchildren are NOT the grandparents. Will YOU take personal responsibility for every aveirah your grandparents and great-grandparents did?
You need to stop posting when you're angry and full of hatred. The rest of the blog is a book-marked daily read.

  5. Chabad ; Time to officially recognize Israel. Time to stop shlichus which was once a wonderful undertaking by the Lubavitcher Rebbe Z'L.
Time to stop distributing Purim graggers , Chanukah latkes or renovating post Holocaust shuls and cemeteries. Time to come home.

    You scribble:
"The grandchildren are NOT the grandparents. Will YOU take personal responsibility for every aveirah your grandparents and great-grandparents did?"

my grandparents and great-grandparents didn't force mothers and their children out of their homes in middle of the night and then line them up by a pit and execute them!
Their grandchildren should all go to hell!

I don't know if those guys are serious, or just big talkers, Lubavitchers trying to make PR, as usual.

If they are serious, they are crazy. But what do you expect from followers of the dead false Messiah of Crown Heights.
