There is a saying in Yiddish..
."those in the know, don't talk, those who don't know, talk"
We no longer have prophets and no one knows the reasons of why Hashem punishes us... No one ... !
The Jewish people and especially the Chareidim were hit hard with multiple deaths during this mageifa, Corona... Hashem took away from us משמנה ומסלתה the best of the Jewish people.. and it hit all different sects and factions .. Chassidim, Litvaks, Sfardim, Modern Orthodox,..no one from the frum world was spared...
Just a week after the State of Israel opened up the country, we all breathed a sigh of relief, hoping to go back לשיגרה to normalcy...
Suddenly the wrath of Hashem came tumbling down on us with a vengeance ...on a day of celebration, Hashem saw fit to take away from us the most beautiful, the most innocent, of Klall Yisrael.... no one, again, was spared.... Chassidim..Litvaks, Modern Orthodox, Sfardim all went down together ...the Malach Ha'movas didn't differentiate between the followers of the Aarelics, Satmar, Sfardim or the Modern Orthodox ... the Malach Ha'movas didn't differentiate between those who lived in Israel and the ones who lived in Chutz Le'aartz..
And where did this happen? On Har Meron, the place where we know for sure that Hillel Hazakan, and Shamai Hazaken are buried... the gemmarah testifies that the machlokas between these two Tanaim were the only ones that one can be certain were for the sake of Hashem....
And when did this take place? On the day that the Talmidim of Rebbe Akivah stopped dying.
Why were they dying? Because שלא נהגו כבוד זה לזה they weren't respectful to each other.
Don't forget these talmidim were the students of Rebbe Akiva who preached ואהבת לרעך כמך ... and yet they ignored his teachings ...
Question: Was this a reason to have them die? Ok..they weren't that nice to each other, but death?...
Answer: This is not my idea, I've seen this in many places and by many rabbanim...
שלא נהגו כבוד זה לזה..... means they couldn't tolerate the opinions of their colleagues...
it was "my way or the highway...."
Oh you wear a kipa seruga? that's heresy... you wear your peyis behind your ears, then you are ashamed of your heritage.... you wear a blue shirt? You are openly showing that you are not like us... you eat machine matzos on Pesach...wow.... you eat gebrokts? you sheigatz. Oh you eat Rabbanut.... you are eating trief .....
they were intolerant of each other....
and who were the ones who were intolerant?
these weren't the regular "Joe Shmo" that you meet in Shul ..this wasn't the guy who comes into Shul for Mincha wearing a baseball cap.....this wasn't the guy who comes to the Kotel wearing shorts, sandals and a t-shirt....Nooooooooooooooo!
These were the Gedoilei Yisrael, the future leaders of klall Yisrael... the Tanaim, the talmidim of the greatest Tanna ..Rebbe Akiva! ..
The talmidim of Rebbe Akiva weren't given a death sentence because committing a sin of
לא נהגו כבוד זה לזה....... deserves death... it doesn't ....
they died .... because they were our teachers they were the ones transmitting the "Mesorah" ...if they had remained alive... their intolerance would be transmitted to future generations.. their intolerance would now be the "Mesorah!"
The message from Hashem is... if you see intolerance.... even from the greatest Talmedei Chachmim, even from the greatest leaders, the greatest poiskim....
Know..that this is not our "Mesorah"
During an awful time like this, when the bodies are still warm, when the aveilim are still sitting shiva , a respected Dayan, a respected poisek, is looking to divide us instead of trying to unite us...this is not our "Mesorah"
Rabbanim of the Eidah Charedis held an emergency meeting on Sunday night, to discuss the Meron tragedy that took place early on Friday morning of Lag Ba’Omer.
Hagon HaRav Moshe Sternbruch led the discussion that included all of the Dayanei Badatz of the Eidah. During the discussion, Rav Sternbruch broke out in pitiful cries over the horrible tragedy that claimed the lives of 45 people. Rav Sternbruch blamed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for the incident.
“During the Meron tragedy 45 people were killed. During the recent (Corona) plague more than 45 people died. Hashem is knocking on our door trying to bring us closer to him.”
Rabbi Sternbruch said about Netanyahu, “They (the Charedi MKs) are not speaking to us, they only speak to Netanyahu. They say that he is the big boss and that we owe him our thanks. He is a rasha and is evil. He desecrated Shabbos, eat neveilos, uproots Israel, he is the one who is doing all of this evil to us.”
Rabbi Sternbruch concluded by saying: “We have a lot of power of half-a-million Jews who follow us. Only 7 percent of them go with leadership. Each and every one of us needs to strengthen ourselves with the commandments between man and his fellow man. We may not speak ill of anyone, even about those people we don’t agree with.”
The Beis Din published a statement that the Rabbonim unanimously agreed to hold a memorial ceremony on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. which will be a public display of mourning. It will be held near Kikar Shabbos. According to the announcement, everyone who considers themselves to be a part of the Eidah Charedis is obligated to participate in the gathering. This includes both the men, the women, and the children.

Why do you feel it necessary to belittle gedolim? If you can't connect to Rav Shternbuch, he need not be your Rav. On the other hand to write an article that tries to make a gadol's words seem ridiculous, undermines the foundation of the oral Torah. Instead, tell us about the response of your gadol.

ReplyDeleteRead my entire post ... it's obvious that you didn't read it ...or understand it at all
I didn't "belittle gedoilim" ...Rav Sternbuch is contradicting himself in the same sentence ...
it's not a question whether I connect to him at all.. it's a question whether Rav Sternbuch is connecting to us, he is the leader not me.. ...
"I wasn't undermining the foundation of the Torah"
What I wrote is very simple ...
25,000 tanaim died because they were about to give over a "Mesorah" of "no tolerance"
If the shoe fits ...then wear it ..

ReplyDeleteI never comment on any blog but having read your idiotic and am-aratzes comment, I cannot sit by and say nothing. Rav Sternbuch is a radical anti-Zionist and even though he preached at the asifa that one 'Should never speak ill of anyone, even about those people we don't agree with" he doesn't practice it at al; witness his comment about Netanyahu.DIN's point was absolutely correct and he was actually very respectful of Rav Sternbuch. ..In a time like this when we are mourning Jews from all sides of the equation and for the Rav to come out and falsely blame the Prime Minister is irresponsible ... Netanyahu wasn't responsible for Har Meron, the Chassidim are..if he doesn't like it here he is welcome to move back to England.
No please not England noooo.
DeleteActually he’s possibly right Natanyahu should not have given in the the Chareidim
Though Natanyahu ate at nonkosher delis , he vehemently denies eating the outright trayf foods and certainly not at his home. I take his word and anyway it has nothing to do with anything.
ReplyDeleteFor you on your level, maybe eating kosher style is kosher. But in reality it isnt.

ReplyDeleteIt is obvious that you come from a Modern Orthodox home and turned yeshivish, that is the mentality of the MO converts to Yeshivish... that we the oilim has to "connect to the Rav" ... not the other way around.the problem is that when the "Rav" is disconnected from the people, and berates and castigates the country in which he lives in, then he reaps what he sowed. It was not too long ago that Rav Sheternbuch himself was booed and almost beaten by his own extremists and called "an apikoras" when he approved a site for building in which the Asra Kadisha mafia was protesting, when you bring up talmidim to hate their own country then you don't deserve any respect at all. Leaders failed us now.and as DIN so bravely wrote they failed us in the Machloka of Korach where they sided with him against Moshe Rabbeinu , they failed us again in the story of the meraglim where the leaders were the meraglim themselves ... if they want respect then they have to earn it it doesn't come automatically

ReplyDeleteGet a load of this guy, he gets up 4:37AM to write his nonsense.Ha HA
".....He desecrated Shabbos, eat neveilos, uproots Israel, he is the one who is doing all of this evil to us.”....
ReplyDeleteWhat do I know ? A pushcart era grooder mechel from an old neighborhood of mostly Holocaust survivors.
Is Bibi a Ponyovitcher talmid ?
You know, where they beat the opposing rav bloody , laughed and sang while he was wheeled to a hospital? Then pepper sprayed the shul again ? Massive chillul..
Nah, he's from the Gur faction, where they curse and harass the opposing relatives.... Last week a video showing a young Gur rutzer cursing at a women wheeling her baby carriage across the street and then shoving her... Naaaaa..
Does Sara Netanyahu throw rocks at people at hafganot and throw religious IDF out of shuls? Does she abuse the mishtara on a daily basis and treat them like dogs?
Maybe Bibi is a Satmar where they too intrafight for control and leadership in Israel.
The issue with this rabbi is that nebech all deceased were frum good people and he can't figure it out, so he needs to bop on Israeli government and Bibi.
Not to minimize tarfus for even a second, but 2 Bet Hamikdash were destroyed for reasons just mentioned, not for eating shrimp.... if he did at all, which I don't believe.
I usually don't recall all the bull coming out of any Israeli politician, but Deri's warning 2 weeks ago that the Government better not interfere with massive pilgrimage to Meron, sticks in my mind... And should stick in your mind too if they're going to blame the government exclusively..
Blame Alert :
Still don't know exactly what happened , but blaming the mishtara exclusively should backfire unless there's conclusive proof .
Anbody ever recall if the extreme chareidi sector ever listened to mishtara on ANYTHING ??!! They're treat them as subhumans..

Nobody knows why this terrible tragedy happened. Its like asking why did the holocaust happen. These are things we cannot know. All we can do is pray that Hashem shows mercy to his people and that never again should such a thing happen R"L.
ReplyDeleteBullshit. That's the yetzer hara speaking.
DeleteHashem does not try to screw over people, the lashon is lo ba bitrunya im briyosav. He always is sending us messages that we NEED to interpret, everything is midday for midday exactly, which is why we have the capability to interpret it.

ReplyDeleteHey early bird special......DIN didn't write the article of Rav Sternbuch's comment of Netanyahu that was reported by the Hebrew Yated and Hapeles ..
What DIN did was comment on their reports, if you have a "tanneh" it should be addressed to them as they are the ones who made him look foolish ..
Respectfully, Rabbi Sternbuch is being misquoted and misunderstood. He merely said that the frum politicians are turning to Netanyahu as if he were Messiah, and that is incorrect. They need to dialogue with other frum Jews, and come to a meeting of the minds without putting anyone's position down.
ReplyDeleteRead his comments twice over and you will get what he is trying to say.
I have seen this misquote on other, non-frum blogs, and it seems that it was taken from there.
Dayan Sternbuch's attack on Bibi is simply part of his larger, main point.
ReplyDeleteHe is giving heck to the faker frumma politicians. The guys who UOJ (& even R' Avrohom Yehoshua) calls the Agudah Fressers are the same garbage in different piles between EY & NY.
The Fressers don't really listen to any real gedolim. They just do what they want to pursue their selfish agendas. Before Lag baOimer many gedolim warned not to go to Meron, especially this year, and they are always against it. When it suits them, the Fressers conveniently ignore the very rabbonim who they claim to admire & follow.
The Fressers only got away with zero restrictions on Meron because they've been blackmailing Bibi. Everyone knows it. You can't even count how many newspaper columns are dedicated to that disgusting symbiotic relationship. Though not if you read any paper or website that covers up for the Fressers.
Read Dayan Sternbuch's statement again while bearing all this in mind.
Rav Schach ztl also said Bibi is a rasha by the way. He was more upset about Bibi's extramarital affairs that what he eats. And it doesn't matter if Bibi didn't eat kezayis chazir. It was still maacholos assuros & still illegal for an Israeli govt official to publicly eat in a non-kosher place.
Rasha Quotes
ReplyDelete"....Rav Schach ztl also said Bibi is a rasha by the way..."
Moshe Rabbeinu to the one who only raised his fist : Rasha, Lomu Takeh Rei'echcho ?
Unfortunately, Ponyovitch ( as an example ) is a hotbed of sinah and physical assaults.
Rav Shach also fought with the Lubavitcher Rebbe and seemingly denigrates Sefardi leadership... Look it up.. So let's take it with a grain of salt.
According to the Rambam & others, Moshe was denied entry to EY not because he struck the rock but because he said : Shimi Nuh Hamorim.. In a fit of anger he insulted Jews.
We, the 9-5 clock punching F train rush hour shleppers are tired of rabbonim and politicos in leadership attacking others in EY . We, the the ordinary yukels, are tired of being told : Naaa... you misinterpreted.... the gabboim, the OX- unnim are the ones who said that ... put words into their mouths... blah, blah..
To tell us that we have no business in intrafighting because we don't understand , and we must keep our mouths shut because their squabbles are not our business, is 100% unaduterated bullspit..
Rabbis set examples... They're teacher first and moremost.. We learn from them.
We're smarter than you think.
