Meanwhile in New York, in the comfort of his leather chair in Monroe, R' Aaron Teitelbaum, Satmar Rebbe of Monroe called voters in Israel "Ovdei Avodah Zara" ... 

according to him all Gedoilim who voted or encouraged their followers to vote are "worshippers of idols"

The following is a speech given by the Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Aaron Teitelbaum  last Shabbos, Parshas Vayikra.

“A few years ago we brought together a multitude of Yidden, many talmidim of my uncle, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum Z’l, the Satmar Rebbe.

The purpose of this gathering was to examine the Rebbe’s shita on Zionism, its essence and its sin.

It is no secret that the foundations of Zionism have been forgotten, even among the Satmar community. We need to review the principles of the Rebbe about this important topic.

Chizuk is necessary, especially now when the elections are coming up in Eretz Yisrael on Tuesday, the 10th of Nissan.

The 10th of Nissan is the day when Moshe Rabbeinu told the Jewish people, ‘Pull and take for yourselves a sheep and slaughter the Pesach.’ The midrash explains the reference to ‘pull,’ as ‘pull your hands away from idolatry and take for yourselves sheep for the mitzvah of slaughtering the Pesach.’

Therefore, we call out to Jews in the Holy land and declare: Pull your hands away from Idolatry! The Zionist state is idolatry in our time. Before you prepare for Pesach, pull your hands away. Do not take part in the impure elections for the sake of idolatry. Indeed, this is how you will prepare for Pesach. “
