  1. A great, nice grabbing headline.
Unfortunately, DIN took it way out of context.
    Listen for yourself.

  2. This is progress from when the Agudah sent Effin' Waxman up to their Fresser Convention microphone to attack UOJ.

Many of their own rabbonim were furious over that dumb move because the majority of Fressers were not even aware of the blog until then - and you guessed it - they all started looking it up to see what the commotion was all about.

Then with all the unwanted attention they were getting in the media, the Agudah finally started reigning in the pro-molester fanatics in their ranks. Shmuel Bloom was quietly told to take a hike and Avi Shafran was somewhat muzzled.

Waxman angrily frothing against Feivy & his UOJ website was significant in how desperate & running scared that Feivy had the Agudah. When he released the out of print halacha teshuva from his adam gadol grandfather, Rav Shraga Feivel who founded Torah Umesorah, that there is a chiyuv to be mefarsem on corrupt rabbonim, the Agudah lost their minds.

It also wasn't lost on people that there had been a parody fake Wall Street Journal article published on the internet that Waxman was acting out in real life. In the parody, the Journal reports on Shafran crisscrossing the globe to condemn & lambast UOJ in joint press conferences with various tinhorn dictators like Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez (both still alive then) & the Supreme Leader of Communist China.

the WSJ parody on Avi Shafran & the dictators is here

the "dusty hat" is an old inside joke kind of like when Trump assigns in a Tweet a mocking nickname to someone that sticks in the public's mind - UOJ had once mocked Shafran that he doesn't dust off his Borsalino, leaving it noticeably filthy
