Charedi Residents of Monsey Breath a Sigh of Relief.. Michael Diederich Will Not Be District Attorney.

Michael Diederich The Loser
Retired Judge Thomas Walsh won the election, running on the Democratic, Republican and Conservative party lines, as well as getting major support from the local Hasidic Jewish community.

Rockland County includes Monsey, Spring Valley, New Square, and all the surrounding areas where a large haredi population resides.

According to members of the local haredi community, Diederich said clearly on the eve of the election that if elected he would personally fight against haredi education and development.

According to local media, the religious community and others felt Diederich's emphasis on the Hasidic Jewish community in his campaign was anti-Semitic. He vehemently denied the classification.

Meanwhile, haredi locals were elected to key administrative positions, headed by Rabbi Aron Ben-Zion Weider, who was re-elected as Rockland County Legislator.

"We are grateful to God for the past and pray for the future. The haredi public has been saved from the harms of haters of the religious. With God’s help and with the power of the public we were able to spoil their evil thoughts," Weider said.
"The mobilization of the public was extremely amazing. Only with the power of unity will we be able to meet the important challenges and tasks now facing haredi Judaism in the region," he added.

  1. These alt right lowlifes spew anti-Jewish incitement and then whine that "everytime you criticise a Jew they call you an anti-semite. And when they really get going the hate comes out.It is troubling that he still got 14000 votes

  2. It's all a sham. Diederich was just the bogeyman to get out the bloc vote. So the leader of the bloc vote, Rabbi Yisrael Hager (of Viznitz sect) can have power, get what he wants, without giving anything to his people.

The proof is that the chairman of the Republican Party of Rockland County NY, Lawrence Garvey, supposedly the biggest anti-Semite in Rockland County NY, did everything to put Judge Walsh a Democrat (and Jewish bloc vote candidate) on the Republican ticket too. Otherwise Walsh would not have won.

  3. The propaganda against me was both false and inflammatory. I am a "hater" according to Legislator Wieder. Yet he refused to debate me on the subject of the proper education of children, and he is the one acting like a demigod.
The problem is the ultra-Orthodox people hear only its leadership’s views, propagated by people such as Mr. Wieder and other operatives, and thus remain clueless as to what it truly means to be a contributing citizen of this county, state and nation. They falsely claim that I want to close yeshivas, or to stifle housing needs. Flat out lies.
What I have advocated for is education in addition to religious education—education that allows individuals to achieve prosperity and success in the world, and which allows for the success of the larger society and our democracy as well. ALL Americans should agree on this, and if the citizens of the ultra-Orthodox community disagree, then let’s have a civil discussion on the subject.
Refusing to do so with me, on the pretext that I am a “hater” or an “anti-Semite,” is cowardice on the part of the ultra-Orthodox community. It is cowardice by the Hasidic leadership, including Mr. Wieder. The Hasidic leadership wants its people to hear only its view of life and the world. It is succeeding. What else explains the vote count against me in 7 Hasidic election districts being 5,088 to 1? What did those 5,088 voters know about me? Nothing!
The history of the world is that knowledge, not ignorance, provides the best path for humanity. I pray that the ultra-Orthodox people recognize this, and recognize it sooner rather than later. We will then all benefit.
Again, I welcome a civil discussion, in good faith, on the matters that should concern all of us.
    Mike Diederich, Jr.

  4. People, wow this is very dangerous. To get fake anti-Semitism going for power. Then he'll escape on the Kastener train when they start killing Jews here?
