ReplyDeleteHaving learned in a shiur he gave in Silver Spring nearly 40 years ago, Rabbi Blech was foremost a talmidchochom and knew gantz shas, a most unusual and rarely seen accomplishment for someone that young at the time. Torah achievement has suffered a tremendous loss with this petirah.

ReplyDeleteI think he was about 68. He probably took a lot of flak for being independent minded and accepting places which were 100% kosher but did not have a "drummer ambiance" like 7-11 in Monsey. Frankly he probably saved all the guys who needed a hangout from eating treif.
