  1. This is old news, dude.
I saw this stuff on Youtube ages ago.

News Flash..... this is a blog not a "news" site....I feature stuff that I believe my audience would like to see
For example ... just a month ago I posted photos from over a hundred years ago
I assume that my readers know that I'm not 129 years old and that I copied and pasted
The above video is of course some years ago .... and yes I copied the embed code and pasted ... a child would know that

    1. That's quite different than posting something that was put out there in recent past.

  3. DIN, as much as your readers would perhaps like to read this story, why publicize such a tragedy? If you dont need to expose her, as you sometimes use as a reason for other stories, why post this? It isn't good.

  4. Duz, any of your close family members publicly gay?
That would explain your sympathy for them.

BTW your former home, the Land of Oz are having a Same Sex Marriage vote shortly. How would've you voted?

  5. I agree with your first commenter.
Not that this is not an important story. After all, the treatment by a Chareidi society of a lesbian in their community is denunciation and mistreatment. What is a frum lesbian girl to do? So I don't blame her for going OTD. But this is an old story.
Why not publicize news stories like this:
    https://patch.com/new-york/new-york-city/years-long-city-probe-nycs-orthodox-jewish-schools-still-has-no-end-sight

Chareidi society is educationally destroying an entire generation of children with the acquiescence of local and state politicians. This is a huge scandal .

  7. I'm suspect of anyone having to share their "struggles" in public. Wawawa she was forced into an arranged marriage while secretly loving women. I hope the picture of her holding a baby is not hers, how selfish if it is.....wawawa we ALL struggle with something...it's called LIFE but how we do it while minimizing the pain to others separates the men from the boys. Melissa or Malky I wish you luck and I hope the NBC bit helps your career because that was really the point of it, wasn't it?

  8. I respect she has and had struggles -- we all should respect that. But unfortunately, she... well, y'no....

  9. AishKodesh 9:12AM,

Well y'no what? That her sexuality was hard-wired by Hashem at birth? That she had no choice in the selection of which gender she is attracted to? That her society and hashkafa detests lesbianism. (although there is no actual prohibition in the Torah of female/female sexual attraction)
So what what type of life would her unalterable sexual preference portend in her chareidi society. It is a life of deception, remaining in the closet and unable to marry a man. And if married, it ends in divorce. And what of the children in such a loveless marriage?
Y'no what? Better educate your kehilla to be accepting of her sexual preference than pushing her OTD.

  10. Although it does not state explicitly in the Torah against it, it is still for real wrong. Not just in my opinion.

And again, I respect and do not look down at her for the taavahs she had for the same gender. But she, like all the rest of us must control bad temptations (not that it is easy). Do you think that if I wanted to, I am allowed to just go and be with whoever I want, C"VC?! No!!

I do feel sorry for her about stuff -- anyone who, C"V and R"L goes off the Derech, deserves to be pitied, for unfortunately they left the true path and have fallen into something that might seem good at first, but ultimately isn't. May it be Hashem's Will that she comes back to Yiddishkeit, but has easier circumstances.....

  11. Aish...you're a primitive, with your reasoning fed to you verbatim by your cult leader.
    Weak minded..like most Chareidim

  12. Homosexuality is forbidden for both genders, buy because it was more prevent among men, so the Torah writes as males. Just as a mechashef male is also forbidden though it says machashefa. About killing an animal with her child the same day, the Torah says Oso, which translates to him, but means her, and according to many commentators it means the father also, but everybody agrees that homosexuality refers to both sexes. There are many such instances. But it is a pity on this girls because as Abe says, some people are born with these feelings and it's a difficult issue.

  13. I think lesbianism is/was highly frowned upon, like scandalous, rather than 'absolutely' prohibited, unlike male homosexuality. Otherwise why would a formerly practising lesbian have been allowed to marry a Cohen, without religious penalty, in bygone times. No way was she considered as sinful as an adulteress.

  14. probably because lesbianism isn't physically invasive as male gays
