Former Satmar 30 Year Old Married Lady Takes her life on Bear Mountain Bridge

Multiple agencies from both sides of the Bear Mountain Bridge searching the water for a female from New City.

DIN sources are reporting that the lady (M.L.) was married with one young daughter; formerly from the Satmar sect and recently moved to New City, a town neighboring Monsey.

The woman's jump was discovered by New York State Park Police when they reviewed a surveillance video of the bridge around 6 p.m., police said.
Westchester County spokesman Kieran O'Leary said the department's marine unit was notified of the jump by park police and began searching for the woman.

The unit searched the area for several hours Wednesday afternoon and evening but was unable to locate the woman.

  1. Is this the woman who was chased out of KJ, at first moved to Monsey & put her daughter in Ateres, and then switched her to a co-ed school & moved to an unnamed modern ortho community on the outskirts of Monsey? There is a modern ortho community in New City. More than one group of them actually, including a group who moved there with their rabbi from West Orange.

  6. The lady was being treated for PPD for over a year. This could happen to any woman - Please remove the Satmar label from the post. (I am not a Satmar Chasid - this woman died for giving birth).

  10. The body that was discovered near the Bear Mountain bridge yesterday was identified as the missing orthodox woman, Malka Lebowitz (Einhorn).
Initial reports say that Mr. Yossi morgeretan coordinator of Rockland Chaveirim was on a boat with a special underwater Sonar which they were testing out when the woman’s body was recovered.
The family and close friends have been notified.
May the family have some closure now.
