Agudah is busy with the Dead, while the IDF is busy protecting the living!

This is too bizarre for words!
Jews throughout Israel are cowering in their shelters, and instead of making a pro-Israel rally in lower Manhattan, they are busy with cemeteries.

We know that Agudah can muster tremendous crowds; witness the disgraceful "Yom Tefillah" that they organized in Lower Manhattan just a few months ago.

Where are they now?  Why is it ok now to say thillim secretly in their prospective shuls? Why arn't they organizing the masses to show the world that we are 100% behind our brothers and sisters in the land that G-D gave us????

The United States Senate has passed, by unanimous consent, legislation that seeks to protect cemeteries abroad from vandalism and desecration.  Agudath Israel of America is applauding passage of the bill, which was introduced by Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Senator James Risch (R-ID).  The measure has already been approved by the House of Representatives, where it was sponsored by Representative Grace Meng (D-NY), and is now headed to the President’s desk for signature.

  1. If you disagree with Agudah not joining pro-Israel rallies, that is one thing. But I don't understand why they should be criticized for honoring the dead. Wouldn't you want to advocate for both things?

  2. to 7:50,
There's a time and place for everything. Right now the focus should be on the Israeli war, on global anti-Semitism that's growing, on growing boycotts around the world, South American countries breaking relations and Bolivia calling it a terrorist state. Jews are cowering in bunkers, young IDF are getting killed, Jews beaten all over Europe, Shuls mobbed and burned. So Agudah could wait a week about cemeteries 300 years old abroad. It's like a family member is cv"s in an emergency ICU and somebody bothering family with high price of cheese in Wisconsin. The Jewish people are busy with a horrible live situation , and with all due respect to tombstones, we can take care of them when the time is right.

  3. Agudah wasn't busy with it. They were merely responding to a bill passed by the senate. To wait would have have looked foolish. Get off your high sanctimonious horse and maybe YOU should stop looking to criticize at a time like this!

Im not Aguda, im not a leader of Klall Yisroel. But the regular hard working guy, that wakes up at 5:30 to chap a daf and then runs to work all day, and is constantly looking at the news, to see to what's happening to our brothers and sisters in Israel and looking for some glimmer of hope, would want the Agudah to organize a mass support rally, rather than reading about some cemeteries ! YOU don't get the point...

  6. I just saw someone publish this notice:

Kiryas Yoel "Shul Maintenance Worker" has Sexual Relationship with 15 year old boy
But it's ok, because he is not a "Tzionie" and did "Chesed" with the 15 year old boy!

Would you believe that at a time when our brothers and sisters are risking their lives for us in combat, someone has the mind to be talking about sex?!

I don't see the difference between a Hamas guy killing Jews, and Yoily Mendlowitz killing a 15 year old, DO YOU?

So you're comparing live people to dead tombstones to make a sarcastic point. Ok.

  9. Ma inyan shemitta etzel har synai the aguda (by the way is lead by gedolei Rosh yeshivos), felt that the timing was just right to acknowledge the senate' good deed, and prod our president yorim hodo to sign the bill into law, whereas about the unfortunate situation in eretz yisroel, they have'nt a clear daas Torah what their response should be. But the truth is, how does a plain Baal habayis dare to second guess gedolei yisroel? Just because 'you' (or others like you) dont 'understand'. the ' sema' in 'choshen hamishpat' says 'daas Baal habayis is heipuch daas Torah'.

    You write that the gedoilim
" have'nt a clear daas Torah what their response should be"
    How insane is that?
Yes, I a "plain Baal Habayis" has a clear "daas Torah" response, and they the big Roshei Yeshivos, don't?
Are you reading your own comment?
    I don't think so.
Because if you would read it, you would see how asinine your comment is!
They have a response for some dead guys in anti-Semitic Europe, that by the way slaughtered most of them, but they don't have a response about the 8, million Jews that are B"H alive in Israel?
    How crazy....

The obvious answer is that these "Roshei yeshivos" are not "daas Torah" they are a bunch of cowards!
Aguda fears Satmar, that's why they had R' Aaron Teitelbaum by their "Yom Tefilah" screaming "Shma Yisroel".... The Kloizenberger from Williamsburg fears Satmar, Belz fears Satmar!and Malkiel Kotler fears Satmar!
They don't want to say what they really think!
BTW Where is that Sma because it sounds like its out of context, because in his days, people (Baalei Batim) worked for a living!

  12. Can you kindly tell us when this phrase Daas Torah was coined?
Because in the lower East side, in the Bronx, in east New York, growing up in melting pot of Jews we never heard this term. Besides, my rav paskens different than yours so how can daas Torah be unanimous or is it some ultra Mysterious Secret Society that lays down the law... Uh--uh--- not in my religion.V'hu reiye.... Many rabbonim do NOT agree with Agudah on everything .. L'meisseh, You're hinting that our small baalei baatim, clock-punching,minds don't chap the inyan... Uh--uh again... Not my religion... Moshe Rabbeinu was ordered by Hashem to "tzipitzel" all Torah , as Rashi says, on a shulchan oruch and explain it in detail, micro-minutia.
If our , nisht far keinem gezugt nish far kan shoom Yiddish kind gezugt,, small minds, can't chap , then your Daas Torah hasn't explained it well, has it now?
Please don't be insulted, but you DO have to take a step down from shteigishe madraygeh just a drop.. Really....Condescending gaave, like a guest after 3 days, as Mark Twain said, starts to stink after 3 days.
