Rabbi Natanel Shriki Will be Conditionally Released After Being Arrested for Groping Ladies

Police on Thursday asked the Beersheba Magistrate’s Court to release under restrictive conditions prominent Netivot Rabbi Netanel Shriki, accused of groping three women, along with his assistant Ariel Moshe.
Shriki was arrested Monday night after two women filed police complaints claiming he had groped them during counseling sessions. A third woman came forward to file a complaint on Tuesday, after his name was publicized.
Moshe was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of obstruction of justice.
Shriki’s arrest was extended by the court until Thursday. When remanding him, the court had said there was reasonable suspicion Shriki could be a “danger” to the complainants and might attempt to obstruct the investigation.
Shriki is a well-known figure in Netivot and among Likud leaders.
The first complaint against Shriki was filed with Beersheba police last Thursday by a woman who had gone to seek his counsel after she and her husband could not conceive a child.
According to her police complaint, during the meeting he asked her to lift her shirt and bra so he could examine her. The woman, a physician, said she didn’t understand why he needed to examine her. He then touched her breast and stomach. She said he told her he understood why her husband loved her and said her breasts were perfect.
She told officers she felt nausea and “unbearable humiliation” from the incident.
After seeing the complaint reported on the news — with the rabbi’s name still withheld — a second woman came forward and filed a complaint against him. The second woman’s complaint told a similar story of the rabbi asking her to remove her shirt during a consultation.
The woman told officers she knew of at least two others who had been subjected to inappropriate behavior by the rabbi.
After his name was made public on Tuesday, the third woman came forward.
Shriki’s attorney Zion Amir said Tuesday that the rabbi “completely, absolutely denies these claims… We have full confidence in his claim that he’s innocent.”
An attorney for the first complainant, Suzie Arania, praised the police for “treating the complaint with utmost seriousness and investigating the case fully. The women are cooperating fully with the investigators in order to enable the truth to come out about [Shriki’s] behavior. From their testimony, it appears we’re seeing similar acts, a pattern,” she told Channel 12.
In asking for the court’s permission to publicize the rabbi’s name earlier this week, a police representative said that “at this point in the case it appears that there were still more incidents, and publicity could prompt additional women to complain who had feared to do so beforehand.”

Frum Newspapers in Israel Call for Virus Czar’s Resignation Over Rebuke of Reb Chaim Kanievski

Ultra-Orthodox newspapers on Thursday condemned Israel’s coronavirus czar Ronni Gamzu and called for his ouster, after he denounced a prominent rabbi who reportedly told yeshiva students not to get tested for the disease.
Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, considered among the most important leaders of the non-Hasidic branch of ultra-Orthodox Jewry in Israel, expressed concern that the testing process would take students away from their studies and that positive results would require those who came in contact with the patient to quarantine, further disrupting yeshiva life, according to the Kikar HaShabat website.
He gave similar reasons a day earlier when he told yeshiva administrators not to quarantine students who are exposed to virus carriers, as is required under Health Ministry regulations aimed at curbing the ongoing major outbreak of the coronavirus.
Gamzu said in response that Kanievsky’s statements “endanger the ultra-Orthodox public.”
The Yated Neeman daily, which is affiliated with the United Torah Judaism party, on Thursday seethed over Gamzu’s pushback.
“Rabbis and public figures lodged a furious protest against Prof. Ronni Gamzu, who opened his mouth against… [Kanievsky]. There is serious public indignation among the Haredi comment over the underhanded comment against Torah authority,” the report said.
“This follows the complete distrust in the actions of the official who is supposed to manage the fight against the virus and his ‘traffic light’ plan, due to his misguided thinking that does not reflect the reality on the ground, and the calculated games… which mostly harm the Haredi public.”

Trump Sanctions Top ICC Prosecutor Who Is Prosecuting Israel & the US

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday slapped sanctions on the top prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Fatou Bensouda, AFP reports.

The economic sanctions against Bensouda and another senior ICC official, Phakiso Mochochoko, come after earlier visa bans on Bensouda and others failed to head off the court's war crimes probe into US military personnel in Afghanistan.

"Today we take the next step, because the ICC continues to target Americans, sadly," Pompeo said.

Parts of a Royal Structure from the time of the First Bais Ha'Mikdash Discovered

Who was privileged to live in the monumental structure possessing a breathtaking view of the City of David and the Temple, which was uncovered in an archeological excavation on the Armon Hanatziv (Commissioner's Palace, also known as Governor's House) Promenade?

Was it one of the Kings of Judah, or was it perhaps a Jerusalemite family of nobility and wealth during the First Temple period?

A rare, impressive, and very special collection of several dozen adorned architectural stone artifacts, which together were part of a magnificent structure, was discovered in the Antiquities Authority's excavations in preparation for the establishment of a visitor center on the promenade, at the site where the home of artist Shaul Schatz once stood. The excavations were funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Jerusalem Municipality and the Ir David Foundation (Elad).

The findings were unveiled to the public today, Thursday, at a festive event in the City of David in the Jerusalem Walls National Park, attended by Minister of Culture, Hili Tropper, Archaeologist from the Jerusalem region of the Israel Antiquities Authority, Dr. Yuval Baruch, and Chairman of the Ir David Foundation, David Be’eri. The findings will be on display in an exhibition at the City of David over the next few days, and an account of their significance will be given online at the Megalim Conference, to be held this coming Tuesday on the City of David website.

'Operation Jacknap': Westchester Resident Details His 1974 Kidnapping

Nothing seemed out of place that November night of 1974 when Jack Teich pulled into the driveway of his Long Island home in Kings Point.
As he exited his car, two men accosted him, covered his head and pushed him into the backseat of a waiting car, placing a tarp over his body.
What should have been a peaceful homecoming to wife and sons after a long day of work suddenly turned into a nightmare.
This is how the story of "Operation Jacknap" begins and the pace never lets up as Teich, now 80 and a Westchester resident, recounts those harrowing days of fearing for his own life and the lives of his family, the police and FBI search for the culprits and the years of legal trials that followed.
The book, released on June 2, is named for the actual case name used by the FBI.

Supreme Court rejects Malka Leifer’s appeal, paving way toward her extradition

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected Malka Leifer’s appeal against a lower court’s ruling that the alleged serial pedophile is mentally fit to be extradited to Australia, where she is wanted on 74 charges of child sex abuse.
This means Leifer’s extradition itself will be decided on September 21 by the Jerusalem District Court, after 70 court hearings over six years that dealt with the question of her mental fitness.
A panel of three Supreme Court justices unanimously rejected Leifer’s appeal, saying none of the arguments presented by her lawyers point to her being mentally unfit to stand trial and be extradited.
The head of the panel, Justice Yitzhak Amit, ruled that there was no reason to intervene in the lower court’s decision.
He rejected the claim that Leifer enters a “psychotic state” before each hearing and therefore her mental state fluctuates with the legal proceedings. He cited six psychiatrists determining that she is feigning mental illness.
Justice Ofer Grosskopf said there was no reason to discuss any issues related to Israel’s criminal law, noting that the criteria for being unfit to be extradited to another country were higher than the criteria for being unfit to stand trial in Israel. He said it was up to an Australian court to determine whether she is fit to stand trial.

Saudi Arabia gives Permanent Overfly Rghts to Israel..

In another breakthrough for Israel’s rapprochement with the Arab Gulf, and a major boon for Israeli air travel, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday announced that it will henceforth allow flights “from all countries” to cross over its airspace on flights to or from the United Arab Emirates.
All countries except one — Israel — are already allowed to fly over the kingdom.
The dramatic announcement, which followed Monday’s first-ever Israeli nonstop flight to Abu Dhabi — which for the first time crossed through Saudi airspace — was announced by the state-owned Saudi Press Agency.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the announcement as a “huge breakthrough” that will help the Israeli economy and reduce airfare.
“For years, I have been working to open the skies between Israel and the East. It was spectacular news two-and-a-half years ago when Air India received approval to fly directly to Israel,” he said.
“Now there is another tremendous breakthrough: Israeli planes and those from all countries will be able to fly directly from Israel to Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and back. Flights will be cheaper and shorter, and it will lead to robust tourism and develop our economy.”
The new Saudi policy “will open up the East,” the prime minister went on.
“When you fly to Thailand or anywhere else in Asia, it will save time and money. This is amazing news for you, the citizens of Israel. These are the benefits of a peace that is genuine,” he said.

DemocRATS Planning on Stealing Election .... Bloomberg Says: "Trump May Win Election Night, But Joe Biden Will Win Days Later Due to Mail-in Votes"

It seems they know that Trump will win by a massive landslide, so they are planting the "fraud" seeds now...
Read Bloomberg's prediction .....
I predict a bloody civil war if that should happen...
An analytics firm bankrolled by billionaire Michael Bloomberg is predicting that while President Trump will appear to win on November 3, Democrat Joe Biden will actually win the election days later due to mail-in voting.
Josh Mendelsohn, the CEO of Hawkfish — funded by Bloomberg and currently working for various pro-Biden super PACs — told Axios that his firm predicts a “red mirage” where Trump wins on election day but Biden wins the election days later when mail-in votes are counted:
The reason we talk about a red mirage is in fact because we believe that on election night, we are going to see Donald Trump in a stronger position than the reality actually is. We are sounding the alarm and saying that this is a very real possibility, that the data is going to show on election night an incredible victory for Donald Trump. That is likely to be what we see.

Pelosi Could Become Acting President if Election Results Are Delayed Past Jan. 20

If this should G-d forbid happen, there will be a bloody civil war .....
The Zionist State may very well be your only hope, because guess who they are going to take this out on?

Could House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., become president if there is no election result by January?

Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano told "Varney & Co." on Thursday whether Pelosi would automatically assume the role of acting president if the 2020 election is delayed.

"It might be right," Napolitano told host Stuart Varney. "President Trump's term ends at precisely noon on Jan. 20, 2021. If the Electoral College has not yet named a successor, presumably either Donald Trump or Joe Biden, then whoever is the speaker of the House would become the acting president of the United States."

He explained, "If the Democrats retain their majority in the House, and it appears likely that they will, but if they do, and if they choose Mrs. Pelosi, knowing at that point that they're choosing the president of the United States, then it would be she."
Democrats could choose someone else or the Republicans could have the majority if they flip the House in November, the judge said.
"Stated simply," he added, "whoever is the sitting speaker of the United States, would become president at noon on Jan. 20, 2021, if the Electoral College has failed to elect someone."
Napolitano further explained that if the Electoral College is unable to choose a successor, the election would go to the House of Representatives, not for a majority vote, but a vote by state, in which each state delegation would vote on their own, independent of their state's election results, and whoever has a majority of 26 states would become president until Jan. 20, 2025.
"That has happened," Napolitano noted. "That's how Thomas Jefferson was elected the first time around in 1800."

"I Can't Take it Anymore" Tragic Final Facebook Post of Reporter Kelly Plasker

It's Chodesh Elul, a time to make a "chesben hanefesh," unfortunately this lady made that cheshben and reportedly killed herself. What happened? What did she do that was so wrong? The answer my friends is far worse than the question...
She was groomed as a little girl by a teacher for his sexual pleasure ....
I chose this story because unfortunately in our very own communities, sexual predators lurk in our parks, shuls and moisdois ha"torah ...waiting to pounce on innocent children, destroying their lives.
Do you know how many teenagers from heimishe homes committed suicide in the last five years? Ask someone who works for Chevreh Kadisha.. ....
How many are going off the derech because they were molested?
So what are we doing about it? The answer is ..."nothing" ....We will call out "tznees" "long shaitels" "zionists" "chillul shabbos" ...offenders ...but coddle the predators ...
Not too long ago a chashiver rebbe in Lakewood who was also a rav in a shul, called a spade a spade ,and made a statement that the "yeshivos in Lakewood are coddling sexual predators" and named a rebbe ....
What do you think happened?  Was the perpetrator thrown out of his position? Was he shamed?
Guess what happened? The child was accused of making this up and was thrown out of the yeshiva, the Rebbe that that revealed all this was thrown out of his position, he was harassed to the point that he had to move away from Lakewood and lost his parnassa... all because he spoke "loshon hara" on the sexual predator..
The predator? Given respect and allowed to continue to destroy lives...
It's chodesh Elul, instead of removing this scum from our midst, let's instead fight about masks, let's debate whether "minyan be"tzeeber" trumps health concerns.... let's fight how many people can come to shul on Rosh Hashana... Let's fight the Mayor, the Governor about the legitimacy of the Health Regulations...
Let's continue to make massive campaigns with two page ads in all the Jewish publications about "Not Taking in Shul" Let's shame the "talkers" ...... Let's continue to push the "Loshon Hara" agenda ... let's make sure that we teach 5 year old toddlers not to speak "Loshon Hara" so that we never find out who is taking advantage of them....
Now read this tragic story,,.
A Texas weather forecaster has died after confessing her “sins” in a devastating, final social media post, according to reports.
Kelly Plasker, a reporter with news station KCBD, shared a “final confession for the sins I am responsible for” on Facebook Sunday in which she alleged a teacher groomed her for a relationship in high school.
“He was supposed to be somebody looking out for me, but instead of looking out for me he looked at me in ways that men should not look at children,” she wrote.
The same day, the news station confirmed the sudden death of Plasker, who had worked there for three years.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic and sudden loss of KCBD weekend morning forecaster Kelly Plasker,” vice president and general manager Dan Jackson said in a statement.
“Kelly was a dedicated member of the KCBD weather staff, well-liked by viewers, and admired by her co-workers. Our deepest sympathies go out to Kelly’s family in this time of great loss.”
Though her cause of death wasn’t released, the network aired a tribute that urged viewers to “ask for help if you’re struggling or had thoughts of suicide,” People reported.
In her final post on Facebook, Plaskar appeared to allude to mental health struggles.
“I love you my friends. My brain is broken and I cannot take it anymore,” she wrote.
It should be noted that her 19 year old son committed suicide two years ago..

Two Women Fight Over a "tosfois" on Jet Bridge at LaGuardia Airport

Those of us learning the daf are having a hard time with the basic 'pshat" of the gemarrah ....
The "toisfois"  are a challenge to even a talmud chachim
Well, these ladies took the discussions and debates of the commentaries on eiruvin  to a new level......
I'm not showing this clip to my chavrusa...  I don't want to give him any ideas..
The "Briskers" can learn a thing or two from these "loimdim"
I believe this fight started over a question whether a "movi" needs both a "lechi" and a "koreh"
If I was there I would have taken the "koreh" and the "lechi" and broken it over their heads....

These two women duked it out at LaGuardia Airport before even boarding their Delta flight to Atlanta, wild video footage shows.
The two passengers were captured brawling on the floor of the jet bridge on Sunday as stunned passengers and employees looked on.
Off-camera, someone can be heard saying, “Come get Aaliyah, she’s fighting,” before a woman and a man approach the pair.
Destiny Davis, a passenger who shot the viral video, said she thought the combatants are “either cousins or sisters,” according to Storyful.
“Once they started to fight, there was little intervention and the police took a while to show up to our gate,” Davis said.
“They led them out in a peaceful manner but the plane was delayed by almost 30-40 minutes and we had to wait for them to find the luggage of the two passengers before leaving,” she added.
Delta spokeswoman Nicole Dusanek told The Post that Flight 1600 “was delayed due to a customer issue” and referred further questions to airport authorities.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey did not immediately respond to a message from The Post.

You Can Now Speak with Holocaust Survivors Even After They Die

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of that war and of the liberation of concentration camps across Europe. Most of the survivors who remain are now in their 80s and 90s. Soon there will be no one left who experienced the horrors of the Holocaust firsthand, no one to answer questions or bear witness to future generations. But as we first reported earlier this year, a new and dramatic effort is underway to change that. Harnessing the technologies of the present and the future, it keeps alive the ability to talk to, and get answers from, the past.

Correspondent Lesley Stahl's interview with Holocaust survivor Aaron Elster, who spent two years of his childhood hidden in a neighbor's attic, was unlike any interview she had ever done.
"Aaron, tell us what your parents did before the war," Stahl asked Elster.
"They owned and operated a butcher shop," Elster said.
It wasn't the content of the interview that was so unusual.
"Where did you live?" Stahl asked.
"I was born in a small town in Poland called Sokolów Podlaski," Elster said.
It's the fact that this interview was with a man who was no longer alive. Aaron Elster died two years ago.
"What's the weather like today?" Stahl asked.
"I'm actually a recording," Elster said. "I cannot answer that question."Heather Maio came up with the idea for this project.  She had worked on exhibits featuring Holocaust survivors for years and wanted future generations to have the same opportunity to interact with them as she'd had.
"I wanted to talk to a Holocaust survivor like I would today," Maio said. "With that person sitting right in front of me and we were having a conversation."
