I know that those with a Yeshivishe narrow view will immediately mock and denigrate Rabbi Elie Mayer, but at the end of the day, one rarely finds this Amunah and Bitachon in the regular Charedie Yeshiva graduate!
I agree with R' Mayer that the prophecy of על כנפי נשרים is not literal but mean airplanes!
How do I know that? Because we see with our own eyes, the ingathering of millions of exiles from all over the world, in such a short period of time. This has never happened in the entire world history; people coming back to their ancient homeland by the millions.

What delays the geulah is us.
ReplyDeleteWhen God wanted to redeem us from Egypt, there was little we could do to help but still He found something. Circumcize yourself, throw away your idols and sacrifice the Pesach. Do something so He could bring the redemption.
Chezkiyahu could've brought the redemption, according to Chazal, but missed the opportunity.
The Jews could've move back in huge numbers with Ezra but stayed put so we got a temporary Beis HaMikdash and very little true sovereignty.
Now God has moved history and empires to give us our land. We cannot sit back and say "Well I'm waiting for the Moshiach bus to pull us and then I'll get on." We have to make the efforts ourself. We have to push for a proper Tzinoi and Dati state and then we will see miracles.
But that's not what we're doing.
