If the whole community has a shred of morality and refused to interact with gett refusers then you wouldn't need others kidnapping and bashing them and ending up in jail.

Never mind that Prodfather Mendel's gangsterei was used against women when the men paid more. He hijacked the Iggud Haganovim "beis din" as the shadow figure running it for all kinds of financial shakedowns with fixed outcomes that had nothing to do with marital strife. Belsky was his dramatic partner in crime who did all the screaming & intimidation during proceedings. They also issued many bogus cherems.
