Calling sanctions on draft dodgers a “war” insults real soldiers and hostages. The true war began on October 7th defending against our many enemies, Misusing that word is offensive and shameful.
The Chareidi narrative of perpetual “victimization”, this time by the State, is the card they always play to keep their power with their “flocks”. Same old, same old.
I don’t understand. Why the protest? Why the call for action? Why the threats of boycotts? Just go and learn in the Bais HaMedrash and Kollel. If that is good enough to protect Israel and obviate the need to actually defend oneself and your fellow Jews, then why isn’t learning good enough to protect against any Gov’t decree or action? Or is this just another example demonstrating the hypocrisy and morally corrupt Chareidi leadership?! You can’t have it both ways. Either personal Hishtadlus is needed or it is not. Clearly, the whole refusal to serve and help the country is a smokescreen and sorry excuse for the lack of character and ethics of the “Gedolim”! Sorry to say it but think about it and be honest. Sadly, it is true!
Isn’t a protest in the streets Bital Torah? I don’t recall chareidim protesting on behalf of Soviet Jewry, agunot, in support of the hostages or against Hamas. Their reason was Bital Torah. Well, the Torah did not save my father’s Rebbe, R’ Elchonon,Hy’d, R’ Simcha Zelig, Hy’d who gave my father smicha nor my grandfather, Hy’d, the Chorkever Dayan. Only my 4 grandchildren currently serving in the IDF will save the chareidim.
Ever since Yated shamelessly eulogized the pedophile Chaim Walder, yemach shemo, they’ve been a disgrace—no better than toilet paper masquerading as journalism.
In the early hours of Monday, two brothers from the Yitzhakov family, who are students at the “Meorot HaTorah” Yeshiva in Telz Stone, were arrested at their home in Tel Aviv for “draft evasion”. (A third student from the Acheinu yeshiva in Modiin Illit, was arrested early Thursday morning.)
While the arrest initially passed quietly, by Wednesday evening top rabbinic leaders convened for urgent consultations and, as reported extensively in this morning’s religious newspapers, decided to ‘declare war’ over the matter.
In an official statement, the Va’ad HaHatzalah of the Jerusalem Faction (“HaPeleg HaYerushalmi”) wrote:
“Due to the dangerous escalation in the decree of spiritual destruction and the continued persecution of Torah learners by the evil authorities, and following the wicked arrest of ‘Meorot HaTorah’ yeshiva students for the ‘crime’ of Torah study, the rabbis of the Committee consulted with Rabbi Azriel Auerbach and other Roshei Yeshiva. From them came a clear directive: to hold a mass protest against the wicked regime, with thousands of Torah-observant Jews gathering for a major demonstration in the streets of Jerusalem at 17:00.”
The statement continued:
“The rabbis expressed sharp condemnation of the situation: ‘Today, everyone understands that we are in a decisive battle for the soul of the entire charedi world. It is the obligation of every Jew to protest the grave humiliation of Torah learners.’”
The battle this time was not confined to the Jerusalem Faction, representing 10-15% of the charedi public, but has spread to the mainstream charedi public. From the home of Lithuanian Haredi leader Rabbi Dov Landau, a statement followed an emergency consultation held at his residence in Bnei Brak:
The statement stressed:
“Last week, Rabbi Landau warned in his speech at the Va’ad HaYeshivot assembly that if the State of Israel declares war on Torah students, the global charedi world will rise up in battle. The State of Israel has now declared war on Torah students. The global charedi community will wage an unprecedented battle!”
The headline of the Loshon Hara Paper the Yated Ne’eman, the newspaper of the Degel HaTorah party which is vetted by Rabbi Landau’s associates, on Thursday morning carried a single word: “War.”
The subheadline reads:
“The State of Israel has declared open war against Bnei Torah: Two yeshiva student brothers were taken from their home and arrested by military authorities.”
According to the article in the newspaper, military and police forces carried out nighttime raids on the homes of yeshiva students, during which the two brothers, both yeshiva students, were arrested at their home in Tel Aviv. Their remand has reportedly been extended by a military court.
The newspaper accuses Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara of leading a “draconian campaign on several fronts simultaneously,” aiming to create an “irreversible clash” between state authorities and the charedi community. It further states that these actions represent “a crossing of a red line in the severe persecution of the Torah world,” and warns that they may “gravely damage the legitimacy of the State of Israel to represent the Jewish people.”
In a sharply worded editorial published in the inner pages, the paper writes:
“The leaders of the Israeli state have decided to stick their heads into the guillotine… the war drums are already pounding at the temples… the Jewish world is now uniting to fight for its soul.”
Later in the article, it adds:
“When it comes to Torah—the outcome is already decided: we have won. The only question is what will happen along the way and what price the persecutors will pay. This is no longer a plea or supplication, but a warning and a threat: ‘Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.'”
Prominent rabbis placed blame for the arrests squarely on charedi politicians, accusing them of falling into a trap set by the military. According to them, the IDF’s plan was never to arrest students from major charedi cities, but rather to target peripheral areas to avoid mass unrest.
In response to the situation, top rabbis have declared a decisive campaign. Rabbi Moshe Tzedakah, a prominent Sephardic Rosh Yeshiva, conducted lengthy consultations and issued a dramatic public statement:
“Rabbi Tzedakah has instructed: Take to the streets and protest. A massive demonstration will take place tomorrow (Thursday) at 17:00, by order of the great Torah leaders, headed by Rabbi Tzedakah himself. The protest will be held at the ‘Maran Intersection’ (Bar Ilan Junction) in Jerusalem, in response to the draft decree imposed on the Haredi public by legislation and force—especially following the arrest of the two Yitzhakov brothers, who were abducted and arrested from their home in the dead of night by military authorities for the ‘crime’ of Torah study.”
Rabbi Tzedakah also declared:
“How is it possible that a Torah student, filled with the spirit of Hashem, would not come out tomorrow to protest the degradation of Torah learners, the crown jewel of creation, who are being humiliated to the ground in the Holy Land?”
The Shas party’s official newspaper HaDerech, also featured a bold front page with the headline:
“War for Hashem; the Torah world prepares for an unprecedented struggle.”
Even though Shas had remained silent about the arrests (despite the detainees being Sephardic), their newspaper reflected the rage. Under the headline, it read:
“Fury and disgust over the vile actions of IDF officials, who sent the military police to carry out pre-planned arrests. Feverish consultations are being held in the homes of Torah leaders to plan a battle that will shake the entire world.”
Quoting members of the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah (Shas’ Council of Torah Sages), the paper positioned the event as a defining moment in the struggle between the religious community and the state.
Yated should have called it a spiritual war to deny a pischon peh to those whiners “Charedi Leshe’Blabber” & “Joe More-Rasha”. Sorry for the ex-Charedi’s loss in the Churban but that was a tzeit of Hester Ponim as the Brisker Dayan himself (that he invokes) had pointed out by the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, which made it impossible to see clearly
ReplyDeleteThe "Hester Ponim"? Are you saying that this was the only time that the Brisker Dayan "didn't see clearly? "
DeleteWhat other time did he see clearly??
If he couldn't see an event that was the most calamitous event in Jewish history, then what could he actually see?
Are you saying that he could see trivial stuff, but when it came to big stuff he couldn't see?
After the fact he said that was "Hester Ponim" to cover up his mistakes??
Yated Farted
ReplyDeleteSo in other words, they didn't know!
So if they didn't know why did they give wrong advice and tell followers that had visas not to emigrate?
They didn't know then and they certainly don't know now!
They should stop their filthy lies that Zionists are trying "to oiker Torah" when the truth is that everyone that wishes can learn and no one stops him, but eligible Bochrim should get off their fat tuchises and fight!
Moshe Rabbeinu said it best
?האחיכם יבוא למלחמה ואתם ישבו פה
DIN, is there anything in your vocabulary apart from Flatulence, Zionism & Defecation? Granted that trio shtim together in perfect harmony, but your smelly shpiel is getting stale. That was exactly the point. The Brisker Dayan refused to posken, said it’s impossible mitten a tzeit fun Hester Ponim. No one said there is Hester Ponim now, certainly there are BH not millions being slaughtered. You are naive if you really believe that the chevra tzuzamen mit the AG & SCOTZS (Supreme Court of the Zionist State) would stop plotting to expand the draft after just a few bochurim with large posteriors as you put it with with grubbeh added emphasis.
DeleteKeeps farting
DeleteYou are again repeating that the Brisker Rav knew nothing!
Which we all keep telling you guys ...that the Gedoilim PreWW2 knew nothing and here is a guy telling us the same thing !
They call it "Hester Ponim" a made-up term by Charediem when their Gedoim get it all wrong!
The so called made up "Hester Ponim" is still on today, and the Gedoilim still know nothing and that is according to your own words!
You’re either playing dumb or it flies over your head. The Torah tells us there’s such a thing as Hester Ponim. The Brisker Dayan R’ Simcha Zelig Rieger Hy”d did not make up anything after the fact. The very day that Molotov-Ribbentrop demarcated a new border he said it was impossible to posken which side to be on because the Hester clouds the ability to posken.
DeleteChochma Bina Vedaas (Chabad)
DeleteYou are again telling us what we all already know and knew, that the Brisker Dayan R’ Simcha Zelig Rieger Hy”d didn't know!
You can dress it up as "Hester Panim" if you wish, but the bottom line is that he didn't know.
And not only didn't he know but none of the gedoilim knew, yet advised their followers Not to make Aliya, though they were holding visas! And some of these "not knowing" Gedoilim ( והמבין יבון) that advised their followers not to make aliya and escaped with their families, leaving their followers to die! In fact one of these Gedoilim a Zionist hater, was saved by a Zionist and after he got saved, he couldn't bring himself to thank him!
I postulate that there is now "Hester Panim" as you so eloquently pointed out that it is a Torahdik, and today's gedoilim again know nothing! And that is according to your logic!
