Israeli Senior Citizens to Start Receiving Third Jab to Fight COVID-19 on Aug. 1

 

Israelis ages 60 and up will begin receiving a third “booster” shot of COVID-19 vaccine next week, the Health Ministry announced Thursday.

The injection is only available to those age 60 and over whose last shot was five months ago, or longer.

The ministry’s coronavirus vaccination committee voted in an absolute majority late Wednesday night to approve a third shot for Israeli senior citizens.

“The decision was based on considerable research and analysis, as well as the rise in risk of the Delta variant wave,” Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said in a statement released to media. 

“Israel has already vaccinated 2,000 immunosuppressed people with a third dose with no severe adverse events, and now we’re rolling out a national third dose campaign. 

“We will share all the information we have with the rest of the global community as we make progress,” Bennett added. 

By Thursday morning, representatives of Israeli assisted living facilities were meeting with Professor Nimrod Maimon, head of the Magen Avot V’Imahot program to discuss implementation of the new policy.

Maimon told them that the booster shots will be immediately administered at the homes.

The third jab can be administered beginning this coming Sunday, August 1, Israeli HMOs were told by the Health Ministry.

Green Pass Program Now in Effect
The rejuvenated “Green Pass” program approved last week by the government went into effect on Thursday.

The program requires those age 12 and up who enter establishments with 100 or more people to present the document which confirms the bearer has been fully vaccinated or recovered from the virus. 

If neither apply, the individual must present a negative result from a coronavirus PCR test taken within the past 72 hours.

A Green Pass or similar document is also necessary for Israelis entering Ben Gurion International Airport and other border crossings.

Ship Managed by Israeli Company Attached by Aircraft off the coast of Oman ...Iran? US Very Concerned

 

Zodiac Maritime, the Israeli company that manages the ship attacked off the coast of Oman, has confirmed that two individuals on board have died due to the attack.

"Two crew members, one a Romanian citizen and the other a British citizen, died from their wounds shortly after the attack," the company stated. "From preliminary reports, the attack was carried out by an unmanned aircraft."

The Jerusalem Post reports that the vessel is a Japanese tanker named M/T Mercer Street. It was sailing from Tanzania to the UAE without a cargo when it was reportedly set upon by pirates.

Official sources, including Israel, the United States of America's Fifth Fleet, and the government of Oman, have yet to comment.

The United States is deeply concerned by reports of an attack on an Israeli-managed tanker off Oman, US State Department spokeswoman Jalina Porter said on Friday.

“We are also deeply concerned by the reports and are monitoring the situation closely,” Porter said at a regular news briefing, according to Reuters.

Zodiac Maritime, the Israeli company that manages the ship attacked off the coast of Oman, confirmed earlier on Friday that two individuals on board have died due to the attack.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz and IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi held a security consultation following the attack on the ship.

An Israeli official commented on the attack on the ship and said, "Iran is sowing violence and destruction in every corner of the region. Out of eagerness to attack an Israeli target, they have complicated and incriminated themselves by killing foreign civilians. The masks are coming off and it is impossible to pretend that the nature of the Iranian regime is unknown."

Foreign Minister Yair Lapid responded to the attack and said, "Iran is not just an Israeli problem, but an exporter of terrorism, destruction and instability that harms us all. We must never remain silent in the face of Iranian terrorism, which also harms freedom of navigation."

"I am in constant contact with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab, I mentioned to him tonight the need to respond severely to the attack on the ship in which a British citizen was killed," he added.

“In addition, I instructed the embassies in Washington, London, and the United Nations to work with their colleagues in the administration and the relevant delegations at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.”

New Information Emerges About the Hevron 1929 Massacre

Apparently, information about the unprovoked murder spree against the Jewish residents of Hevron, including the relocated Slabodka Yeshiva, had reached Jerusalem on the fateful day itself.

DC "Defund Police" Mayor announces plan to hire 170 additional police Because DC is Drowning in Crime!

 

Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced Wednesday that she plans to add 170 police officers to the city’s force amid rising violence and several high profile shootings in the city. 

"Right now, I have directed MPD to use any overtime necessary to meet our public safety demands," the Democratic mayor wrote in a statement. The statement noted that Bowser plans to hire 170 additional Metropolitan Police Department officers by 2022. 

"But we know that is not a complete solution or the right long-term solution. We also know we need all of our officers to be fresh, rested, and in the best position to make good decisions – and that requires having a full force to meet all of our community’s needs."

Bowser added, "The department is in a good position to make additional hires and move swiftly to close the gap between attrition and hiring, and that’s what this plan is going to help us do."

Bowser is a vocal supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, which has pushed for defunding the police in favor of community policing and funding social justice organizations. 

Last year, the city council voted to defund the police department by shifting $23 million out of its budget in a move that Bowser publicly opposed. 

Homicides in the city hit a 16-year high in 2020 and local media outlets reported in April of this year that 2021 was on track to be even deadlier. Earlier this month, gunfire broke out near the Washington Nationals baseball stadium causing players and fans to flee the area in a chaotic scene that drew national attention. 

That shooting was followed up by a brazen shooting in an upscale Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. that sent restaurant patrons fleeing in all directions and sparked outrage in the community. 

Dozens of angry residents took to the streets recently to march in protest of the increased gun violence after a six-year-old girl was shot and killed riding her scooter. 

"This is something that we’ve been warning about for years," D.C. Police Chief Robert Contee said about the lack of resources he has to fight crime.  "We don't really have the ability to hire officers right now. We have a defined amount of resources to deal with a very large city that continues to grow."

The New York Times has been radio silent as one of its star journalists suggested that Trump supporters should be designated as "enemies of the state" amid what she described were ongoing "national security threats."

Times Justice Department reporter Katie Benner took to Twitter on Tuesday as the first hearing of the Democrat-led Jan. 6 select committee was underway. 

"Today's #January6thSelectCommittee underscores the America's current, essential natsec dilemma: Work to combat legitimate national security threats now entails calling a politician’s supporters enemies of the state," Benner wrote. 

Benner explained, "As Americans, we believe that state power should not be used to work against a political figure or a political party. But what happens if a politician seems to threaten the state? If the politician continues to do so out of office and his entire party supports that threat?"

The Times' DOJ reporter cast doubt that the Pelosi-appointed committee would resolve the "dilemma" since it remained "unresolved" following the Russia investigation and both impeachments of President Trump. 

"That leaves it up to voters, making even more essential free, fair access to the polls," Benner concluded. 

Benner, who was recently hired as an MSNBC contributor, sparked backlash on social media for her tweets targeting Trump supporters.

Hours later, Benner deleted the tweets, claiming they were "unclearly worded."

This past weekend, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd added another column to the myriad irrational and hysterical pieces about the “existential threat” climate change allegedly poses to human life.

As I do after almost every piece I read on the Internet, I read comments submitted by readers.

One provided me with an epiphany.

It was a comment submitted by New York Times reader “Sophia” of Bangor, Maine:

“I have one child, a daughter, who told me age 8 that she would never have a child because of global warming. She’s now 34 and has never changed her mind. So I will not experience a grandchild. For her wisdom, I am grateful. I would be heartsick if I did have a grandchild who would have to experience the onslaught of changing climate.”

It is hard to imagine greater proof than that comment of the power of mass media and of the left. That a normal woman would celebrate her daughter’s choice not to be a mother and not to make her a grandmother can only be described as deranged. No normal-thinking human being would think that way. Jews had children during the Holocaust and made sure to have children if they survived the Holocaust.

Does this deranged woman know how few people are dying due to weather-related incidents in the era of global warming?

Delta passengers outraged at airline serving Ben & Jerry's

 

Passengers on a Delta flight from New York to Tel Aviv on Wednesday were displeased when they discovered that the in-flight service included a less-than-sweet treat: Ben & Jerry's ice cream.

Ben & Jerry's recent announcement that it would stop selling its products beyond the Green Line caused international controversy and much concern in Israel, where the decision was seen as capitulation to the BDS movement.

Many of the passengers on Wednesday's flight handed the ice cream back to the flight attendants.

One of the passengers was former Likud MK Dr. Anat Berko, who was traveling with a relative.

"After the ice cream was served, a lot of people protested the serving of a food product whose producer boycotts Judea and Samaria. I protested, as well, and gave my ice cream back. At that stage, the Israeli flight attendants said they had told the airline that the ice cream was an inappropriate choice, but they still served it," Berko said.

The former MK said that a few upset passengers declared they would write to Delta to protest the airline's decision to serve Ben & Jerry's.

"Not only did I give my serving back, I also filmed the event, so the airline couldn't deny it had happened. Delta needs to explain itself and this astonishing decision," Berko said.

Berko added that despite the ice cream incident, the flight and the service had been excellent.

172 Olim Land in Ben Gurion Airport this Week Marking Spike in Aliyah

 172 Olim landed this week on four Nefesh B’Nefesh Aliyah Flights, in cooperation with the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration, The Jewish Agency for Israel, Keren Kayemeth Le’Israel, and JNF-USA.

These flights are arriving during a record-breaking summer of Aliyah, with an expected arrival of 2,000 Olim. This incredible spike comes as a result of the increase in Olim who applied for Aliyah during 2020. Over 14,000 Aliyah applications were opened last year, the highest recorded number of Aliyah applications the organization has experienced since its founding.

As of June 2021, over 1100 people have made Aliyah, with 2000 additional Olim expected over the summer months. Nefesh B’Nefesh is anticipating surpassing the total number of Olim who arrived in all of 2020 by September of this year. In addition, over 4300 Aliyah applications have been submitted in 2021, already exceeding the total number of applications submitted in 2019 (the year before the Covid-19 pandemic).

“With the many changes people have faced over the past year and a half, causing them to rethink their approach to family, community, and employment, Aliyah has become more attainable than ever before,” said Rabbi Yehoshua Fass, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Nefesh B’Nefesh. “We are seeing how these shifts, while fundamentally difficult, are enabling more and more people to consider Aliyah today. It is amazing to see how the increase in applications has had tangible results, showing that people are making the necessary decisions and putting their Aliyah at the forefront.”

The Olim on this week’s group flights were comprised of 172 individuals, the oldest of whom is 87 years old and the youngest being a 6-month-old girl. They hail from New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ontario and will be moving to Jerusalem, Beit Shemesh, Modiin, Kiryat Gat, Ra’anana, and Netanya. Among the Olim who arrived this week were 12 medical professionals including four physicians, in addition to several lawyers, accountants, engineers, and educators, all eager to join and contribute to the Israeli workforce.

Professors are apologizing for saying ‘male’ and ‘female.’ Students are policing teachers. This is what it looks like when activism takes over medicine.

During a recent endocrinology course at a top medical school in the University of California system, a professor stopped mid-lecture to apologize for something he’d said at the beginning of class.

“I don’t want you to think that I am in any way trying to imply anything, and if you can summon some generosity to forgive me, I would really appreciate it,” the physician says in a recording provided by a student in the class (whom I’ll call Lauren). “Again, I’m very sorry for that. It was certainly not my intention to offend anyone. The worst thing that I can do as a human being is be offensive.” 

His offense: using the term “pregnant women.” 

“I said ‘when a woman is pregnant,’ which implies that only women can get pregnant and I most sincerely apologize to all of you.”

It wasn’t the first time Lauren had heard an instructor apologize for using language that, to most Americans, would seem utterly inoffensive. Words like “male” and “female.”

Why would medical school professors apologize for referring to a patient’s biological sex? Because, Lauren explains, in the context of her medical school “acknowledging biological sex can be considered transphobic.”

When sex is acknowledged by her instructors, it’s sometimes portrayed as a social construct, not a biological reality, she says. In a lecture on transgender health, an instructor declared: “Biological sex, sexual orientation, and gender are all constructs. These are all constructs that we have created.” 

In other words, some of the country’s top medical students are being taught that humans are not, like other mammals, a species comprising two sexes. The notion of sex, they are learning, is just a man-made creation. 

The idea that sex is a social construct may be interesting debate fodder in an anthropology class. But in medicine, the material reality of sex really matters, in part because the refusal to acknowledge sex can have devastating effects on patient outcomes.

IDF Recovered 81 Of 98 Surfside Victims

 

Israel’s IDF National Rescue Unit recovered 81 of the 98 victims at the site of the collapsed Champlain Towers, The Palm Beach Post reported on Tuesday. The commander of the rescue unit, Lt. Col. Golan Vach, personally found 20 of the victims.

How did the unit accomplish this remarkable achievement? The Post reached out to Vach at his home in Beit Rimon in northern Israel to discover the unique knowledge the IDF team brought to the site.

Vach started at the beginning, saying that when his team arrived in Florida at 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 27, the morning of the fourth day of rescue efforts, they weren’t scheduled to begin work until noon but nevertheless they went straight to the site of the disaster.

“It’s like a race where most of the runners began a few seconds ahead and you are trying to catch them,” he said.

Half of Vach’s team immediately began seeking out the relatives of the missing to gather information as the precise details provided by the family members are crucial to rescue efforts.

The other half of the team went to the rubble where they found rescue workers digging in spots where the search dogs were barking. Vach said that according to his vast experience, rescuers need a “much wider methodology to try to evaluate where exactly people were buried in the site.”

Three Thugs Rip Shtreimel from Chasid's head and screamed at with anti-Semitic slurs in the Catskills

 

Three men have been arrested and charged with a hate crime after they attacked a Jewish man in Fleishmanns, New York.

New York State Police said that the anti-Semitic assault occurred July 24, shortly before 11 a.m. A Jewish man walking home from synagogue along Main Street in Fleishmanns, a village in New York’s Catskill Mountains, was accosted by a man who got out of a pickup truck and stole the victim’s shtreimel off his head.

The suspect returned to the pickup truck. He and its two passengers shouted anti-Semitic slurs at the victim and then drove away.

The three suspects have been charged with grand larceny in the third degree as a hate crime.

nvestigators were able to locate the victim’s shtreimel. Made of real fur, shtreimels can cost thousands of dollars.

The suspects were identified by police as Johann Diamond, 21, of Grand Gorge, New York, Korey Bush, 25, of Ashland, New York, and Wesley Eignor, 24, of Denver, New York.

Diamond was arrested on July 25, and Bush and Eignor were arrested on July 26. All three were arraigned and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo released a statement regarding the hate crime.

"I'd like to commend the New York State Police on a prompt, successful investigation following a disturbing anti-Semitic hate crime that took place in Delaware County. It is unacceptable for a Jewish man walking from a synagogue on Sabbath to be singled out, have his shtreimel ripped from his head and be verbally attacked because of his religion,” said Cuomo.

"This is New York, one of the most diverse collection of people from around the globe, and we will continue to stand together, united in our commonalities, and call out these vile incidents of hate whenever they occur. We will use every tool at our disposable to weed this hatred out of our state and ensure that love will always win."

Asian mom attacked in subway by a Big Black Brute dies after brain surgery

 

The Brooklyn mom who tumbled down a flight of stairs during an attempted robbery at a Manhattan subway station earlier this month has died, police sources told The Post.

Than Htwe, 58, died Wednesday, one day after her family said on their GoFundMe page that she would not survive after undergoing brain surgery — and that they planned to donate her organs.

The page had raised more than $48,000 for the family before it was shut down this week.

“I just want to tell everyone who’s reading this to always cherish the moments you have with your mother,” her son, Kyaw Saw Hein, wrote on the fundraising site.

“Tell her ‘I love you’ or give her a hug and kiss because you never know what will happen,” he said. “Thank you for all the support.”

Htwe, of Brooklyn, was with her 22-year-old son on the way to a doctor’s appointment on July 17 when they were attacked from behind at the Broadway and Canal Q line station in Chinatown.

Their attacker — who remains on the loose — tried to grab Hein’s backpack as the pair climbed the stairs, and both he and his mom fell down the stairs as the brute ran off, police said. 

Htwe remained unconscious at the hospital and never recovered.

Uman: Special terminal for Hasidim In Israel & testing in Ukraine

 

Minister of Religions Matan Kahana and Minister of Health Nitzan Horowitz summarized the outline for the trips to Uman for Rosh Hashanah.

The outline that will be presented to the Corona Cabinet in the coming days has been formulated with broad agreement by Minister Kahana, in coordination with Breslov rabbis and activists and senior officials of the Ministry of Health. Minister Kahana will meet tomorrow with the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel and introduce him to the principles of the outline.

The ministers' guideline was that as long as Ukraine remains a green country, Hasidim would be allowed to travel to Uman, just like any trip to any other green country, according to the guidelines as they are today. The ministers stressed that there would be no discrimination among travelers abroad.

As part of the outline, it was decided to significantly reduce the number of special (charter) flights from Ben Gurion Airport to Ukraine. In addition, the Hasidim's flights will take off from Terminal 1 and the system of tests at Ben Gurion Airport will be reinforced in preparation for the Hasidim's return after Rosh Hashanah.

In addition, a system for tests will be set up in Kiev and Uman ahead of the return flight, under the responsibility of Breslov organizations. Each passenger will have to undergo three tests like any other traveler abroad. Unvaccinated and children under the age of 12 will be required to isolate for 14 days or for seven days with two negative tests.

Amrom Fromowitz from Monsey Killed in Airplane Crash in Ukraine With Two Other Bochrim

 

Horror unfolded on Wednesday morning, when word spread of an unthinkable tragedy which claimed the lives of three Yeshiva Bochrim.

 The three Bochrim, from Monsey, Williamsburg, and London, were part of a group of Bochrim from Mir Yerushalayim who were in Ukraine visiting Mekomos Hakedoshim. The Bochrim took a sightseeing plane ride in Western Ukraine on Wednesday afternoon, and for reasons still unknown, a horrific accident occurred when the plane went down in Prykarpattia, and crashed into a private house near the village of Sheparivtsi.

FYI, Mayo is very easy to make, you can make it at home fresh. 

the ingredients are, egg yolks, oil, vinegar or lemon juice, and spices. 

The oil can be canola oil, sunflower oil, or light olive oil. 

Don't use Extra-virgin olive oil which has a strong flavor and may cause the Mayo to separate.

The voice of Jackie Mason in The Simpsons - Rabbi Krustofski - Ethical Question

Mason was a regular on “The Simpsons” as the voice of Rabbi Krustofski, Krusty the Klown’s father. 

In this scene, he voices the character telling his son that comedy is an inappropriate career for someone in an observant Jewish community who comes from a distinguished line of rabbis — someone much like Mason himself.

Eric Adams declares war on the "Little Socialist" AOC

 

Democratic mayoral candidate Eric Adams declared his opposition to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist “movement” — which includes defunding the police and shuttering prisons — during a fundraiser co-hosted by a Republican member of the City Council, The Post has learned.

A video recording of Adams’ speech shows him telling supporters that the battle he faced wasn’t with his political rivals in the Nov. 2 election, but with the Democratic Socialists of America.

“I’m no longer running against candidates. I’m running against a movement. All across the country, the DSA socialists are mobilizing to stop Eric Adams,” he said.

“They realize that if I’m successful, we’re going to start the process of regaining control of our cities.”

The remarks sparked cheers and applause from attendees at the Monday night event in Douglaston, Queens.

Although Adams — a former NYPD captain whose campaign hinges on restoring public safety — didn’t mention Ocasio-Cortez (D-The Bronx, Queens) by name, the DSA openly acknowledges her as its “foremost socialist superstar.”

A page on its website — which shows Ocasio-Cortez marching with a raised fist — also says she “inspired up to 10,000 people to join” the nonprofit organization.

Adams’ speech came less than two weeks after a news conference at which he said he wanted to reclaim the mantle of “being progressive” from Democrats who “hijacked” it but “do not have a track record of putting in place real progressive changes.”

On Monday, Adams — a former state senator and Brooklyn’s outgoing borough president — told donors that he wanted to transcend partisan politics and that he was seeking votes from New Yorkers regardless of party affiliation.

“We’re not going to let parties get in the way of this party called New York City,” he said.

Democratic megadonor Ed Buck guilty in ‘party and play’ drug deaths

Ed Buck, a prominent liberal activist who donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates, was convicted Tuesday of injecting men with methamphetamine in exchange for sex, causing two deaths.

A federal jury convicted Buck of two counts of meth distribution resulting in death as well as three other charges following deliberations that lasted for more than four hours following a two-week trial. The 66-year-old will face a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison at his sentencing, which has not yet been scheduled.

The verdict was handed down four years to the day after 26-year-old Gemmel Moore was found dead of a drug overdose in Buck’s West Hollywood apartment. An investigation revealed that Buck had purchased a plane ticket for Moore, who was black, to fly from Texas to Los Angeles to “party and play” with the older white man.

“The party is the drugs, the play is the sex,” Assistant US Attorney Chelsea Norell told jurors in her opening statement. “If they didn’t party, he wasn’t interested.”

Moore’s family and activists had pushed for Buck’s arrest, charging that his wealth, political connections and his race precluded him from facing consequences. Despite the clamor, Buck was left free to pursue his fetish for another two years after Moore’s death.

“Today is bittersweet,” LaTisha Nixon, Moore’s mother, said after the verdict. “We got victory today.”
